In a dream location
The Braithwaite Hall stands in the peaceful conservation village of Far Sawrey, only a ten minute walk from Hill Top, the famous home of Beatrix Potter. Lake Windermere and Esthwaite Water are a short stroll away, with footpaths and mountain bike trails from the door.
Opposite the Hall is The Cuckoo Brow Inn for food, drink and rooms; the Tower Bank Arms is half a mile away in Near Sawrey. The Bowness ferry is within walking distance, and Hawkshead, Coniston, Ambleside and Bowness are all a few miles off.

Two hundred and fifty years of village life
Built in the mid-1700s as the Sawrey Endowed School, with its small bell tower still in place, the building has been a schoolroom, a chapel of ease and — for the last several decades — the village hall. It is a registered charity, looked after by volunteers.
